Abania & Macedonia Tour.
Day 1: Durres/Tirana
Arrival at the Tirana airport or at the Durres port. Visit the Archeological site of “Dyrah” in Durres. Drive to Tirana. Transfer to the hotel. Depending on the arrival time: stay for lunch in the city and afterwards visit the National History Museum and the centre of Tirana. Evening free or organize for dinner and enjoy local Albanian cuisine. Return to the hotel
Day 2: Kruja
After breakfast drive to Kruja. Visit the Skenderbeu Castle and Museum (National Hero of Albania ). Next visit the old Bazaar of Kruja for local product shopping. Stay for lunch in Kruja. After lunch drive back to Tirana and visit the Dajti Mountain, (1300 m above the city). Visit the area and have coffee. Return to the city and the hotel. Eat dinner. Back to the hotel.
Day 3: Tirana/Vlora
Leave Tirana to Vlora. On the way to Vlora visit the Monastery of Ardenica, and the Archeological Site of Apollonia.
Day 4: Vlora/Saranda
After breakfast, leave Vlora and drive to the coast of Albania to the city Saranda.
Stop for coffee in Llogara and for lunch in Himara and afterwards stop for a visit of the Castle of ‘Palermo’.
Drive to Saranda, check in, dinner at the Lekursi Castle on a hilltop above Saranda.
Day 5:Saranda/Girokaster
In the morning drive to visit the Ancient site of Butrint (2000 BC). Guided tour of Butrint. Drive to visit the Monastery of Mesopotam and the national park of the Blue Eye Spring. Stay for lunch at the Blue Eye. Continue to Gjirokastra. In Gjirokastra visit the Castle and the Old City. Have dinner at the Freskia restaurant in the historic district of the city.
Day 6: Gjirokaster/Berat
After breakfast visit the Gjirokaster Ethnographic Museum (ex house of the Hoxha family). Leave Gjirokaster for the Byzantine city of Berat known as the city of “1001 windows”. Have lunch along the way. In Berat visit the historic town, the Castle and the many churches of Berat.
Day 7: : Berat/Tirana
After breakfast visit the Berat Ethnographic museum. Walk to the old city in the Castle and visit the Monastery of Onufri. Have lunch on the other side of the river. After lunch drive to Tirana arriving at 16:00. Evening free.
Day 8:Tirana/Pogradec
After breakfast leave Tirana and drive to Korca on the way to Pogradec. Visit the ‘Bratko’ Museum in Korca and stay for lunch and eat lunch at the Gjuetari Restaurant which features wild game. After lunch drive to visit the churches of Voskopoja. Drive back through Korca and on to Pogradec situated on the shores of Lake Ochrid. Dinner in a lakeside restaurant which offers the unique species of Ochrid lake Koran fish.
Day 9: Pogradec/Ochrid
Leave Pogradec and drive to the border between Albania and Macedonia. After the visa processing drive to Ochri, Macedonia along the shores of Lake Ochrid. Check into the hotel and have lunch in Ochrid. After lunch visit the Church of Sveti Naum, the Ochrid Monastery and several other Churches which are in the area. Dinner in the Old Town of Ochrid. Stay the night in Ohrid.
Day 10: Ochrid/Tirana
After breakfast drive back to Tirana. Stop for lunch along the way in a nice location. Arrive Tirana in the afternoon and check in to the hotel. Afternoon free. Dinner near Tirana in the Castle of Petrela. Return to the Hotel.
Day 11: Tirana/Shkodra
After breakfast drive to Shkodra city. Take a coffee break upon arriving in the city. Visit the Castle of ‘Rozafa’. Stay for lunch. In the afternoon return to Tirana, arriving at around 17:00 for afternoon shopping. In the evening drive to Durres.
